About

I was a simple old woman, enjoying my second childhood,  before I became an 81-year-old widow, “wealthy” beyond my former expectations. While I have your attention, let me explain (before I get a lot of scams). My “wealth” is not of this world but of heaven ~ accruing over the last twenty-eight years since I learned of my eternal inheritance through Jesus Christ. I am still a simple old woman, enjoying my childhood, but with more now than before. I hope that those who want a part of this “wealth” will read on.

My Father “owns the cattle on a thousand hills,” created and controls the universe, and supplies every need exceedingly abundantly more than anyone can ask or think. I have been sharing the news of this legacy all these years, telling others, writing, and publishing our books so that many may come to claim this inheritance as a joint-heir with Christ and His family.

I have been a sister and a wife. I am still a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. These roles do not last forever, but I am and always will be a daughter. I have learned to focus on my heavenly Father as He has brought me to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, in the power of His Holy Spirit.

The Life of a Caregiver
Most of my life has been in the role of a caregiver ~ for our children, grandchildren, my father with cancer, my mother with Alzheimer’s disease for 4 ½ years, and two months after, for my husband, Jerry, an amputee with diabetes and heart disease for 13 years.

Since June 1, through the rigors of this pandemic and after Jerry’s final struggle with heart failure, I have experienced more than ever the presence and power of the Lord God ~ the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The promises He makes in His Word are being overwhelmingly fulfilled through my sorrow and tears. More than ever, I know the reality of His Words, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” He has ministered to me through our family and church but more than this, in my time alone with Him.

I have cried more tears because of His goodness and grace than for my loss.

Compounded Interest from Adversity
I have gained most in my life through adversity ~ treasures from heaven and laid up there for eternity. How long He will enable me to share these riches with others, I do not know, but I will continue to praise Him and “sing to the Lord, for He has dealt bountifully with me.”

I want for nothing as long as He is with me and I know His promises are true now and forever.

My remaining time will be focused on my Father, His printed and Living Word, Jesus Christ ~ and as Anna and other widows in the Bible ~ in prayer and supplication. From these come what I share on this blog and in our books posted on Amazon.

One of my main prayers is to know how to alert other Christian widows of the life He desires to accomplish in and through us; how to be a part of His vast, vibrant, and vital kingdom here on earth ~ how to truly live past the death of those closest to us.

You don’t have to be a widow to start investing in this kingdom. But, you need to start now, whatever your role or age. What we have of heaven will be what sustains us when we lose everything else.

The God of all GRACE,

I am a Christian translator looking for materials to translate all the time:-), so I will be very interested in checking out this Bogatzky-devotional you are also dealing with. I have never heard of it before. Thank you for making it known to people. We need to know about these treasures of God’s people.

    1. This devotional is described on agoldentreasury.com. It is difficult to choose the ones I will post, but I don’t have time every day. That is why I have made the whole year available through Amazon’s Kindle to download to your computer. If you decided that $6 is too much please let me know. I have considered lowering the price to make it available to more people.

      I am working on a future book using some of the same terms that you use.
      Thriving Under Oppression is something that the Lord has given me to think about, with the table of contents,the past year.
      I want to write about how God works in us, not only for us to strive and survive but like you expressed, to THRIVE.
      It is His power displayed in us through whatever our circumstances.

  5. I had the honor of caring for my late wife 24/7 for the last seven years of her life. She had a chronic neurodegenerative condition similar to Alzheimer’s disease. The obvious tragedy was accompanied by a continuous string of blessings and miracles only understood by people who have been there. It was a monumentally life changing experience. God’s continuous presence was inescapably real.

    I am sure you needed Divine wisdom, grace, meekness to care your your mother. It must have been very challenging. I know it is difficult at times caring for my stubborn mother.

  12. I finished your book, Two Full Plates. Excellent read! I plan to share it with my one sister. She is sharing caregiving with my other sister (they live states apart, so mom moves every six months). Her husband is now going through a health crisis and she feels she can’t care for mom, too. Mom desperately wants to come back as she has grandchildren and great grandchildren in the area.

  14. Hi Fran and Jerry, I’ve read A Sheep’s View and of course this About and I was immediately drawn to the sincerity, wisdom and beauty of your written thoughts. I will be 72 in April and my wife and I are also still learning, as you know, it never stops. Thank you for following my blog, I will follow yours also as I can obviously learn from you. You brought tears to my eyes for a number of reasons. The lessons you learned, the focus you have gleaned along the way and the peace and simple contentment I see between the lines (and also within the lines). I marvel how stupid I have been and how little I learned for so many years. I, like you, long to look into the eyes of our Lord and Saviour for so many reasons. I find it ironic that as I walk through the twilight years, it is only now that I begin to understand the depth of God’s love and grace. Keyword being begin. Thank you for sharing.     1. Bruce, thank you for your gracious words. It is sometimes difficult to help younger ones in the faith to seek the wisdom that is found only in Christ, and that it does not come instantly. It comes through the trials and experiences as we continue to walk with Christ ~ the same path that He traveled. It is good to hear from others how they are still learning and growing, sometimes just beginning to know the Lord’s mercy, grace and goodness, and to live in the joy that only a patient servant can know. We are not always able to attend our church for services every week, but as on other days I was blessed with a special sermon on the story of Stephen from the book of Acts this afternoon, from Magherafelt, Ireland. I would tell you about it but could not express it the same as I heard and felt it. If you are interested I would be glad to send you the link. It would only be the audio as recorded from the video. Secondly, I was so deeply moved by your story here. It is so heart wrenching to bear the challenges of mortality, yet we have such a great Hope in Christ. It is our witness to His amazing Grace. The great suffering that your family has endured, has ultimately also been your greatest witness to His faithfulness.
