The Purpose of Christ’s Resurrection

7102751_staAre all the technological extravaganzas that are performed once a year what Jesus meant by “true worship?” What is our response to Christ’s resurrection the rest of the year? Let’s look at God’s word for His purpose for Christ’s death and resurrection.

For New Life and Trial of Our Faith

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” 1 Peter 1:3-7

To Be Conformed to the Image of His Son

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:28-29

Herein is love, not that we loved God,
but that he loved us,

and sent his Son to be the propitiation
for our sins.

Beloved, if God so loved us,
we ought also to love one another.

1 John 4:10-11

Hereby perceive we the love of God,
because he laid down his life for us:

and we ought to lay down our lives
for the brethren
.”

1 John 3:16

Dear Father, keep us this day and every day in the reality of your redemption, loving you with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves. Make the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ an ever-present working in our hearts and lives for everyday worship in spirit and truth; to remember His death and resurrection as the most spectacular performance, to which no other can compare.  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
